SERVICES

In my practice as a Clinical Psychologist in New York State, Connecticut, and Maryland, I rely on a myriad of clinical tools: recognizing strengths and utilizing them to help address problem areas, engaging in pragmatic problem solving, cognitive reframing, forging gains through insight and self-exploration, as well as learning to understand oneself in relation to others and increasing empathy. I use these skills to provide consultations, evaluations, and ongoing psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, and children, as well as families and couples. On a regular basis, I collaborate with other clinicians, psychiatrists, pediatricians, parent coordinators, teachers and school counselors in order to provide you an integrative approach to your treatment.

I enjoy seeing a diverse group of patients who are school aged children and older; representing a wide range of ethnic backgrounds, religious affiliations, and sexual orientations. I work with people who have a variety of areas that they are seeking help for; including anxiety, depression, relationship/marital problems, child and adolescent issues, divorce/parenting conflicts, self-esteem, grief and loss, and traumatic stress-related issues. I will work with you to assess what modality of therapy would be most effective for you.

  • Individual Psychotherapy for Adults, Adolescents, and Children

  • Family or Couples Therapy

  • Parenting Guidance/Parent-Child Interactions

CONSULTATION

After an initial consultation phase, you and l will discuss my treatment plan and recommendations for you. In order to provide you the best treatment, I will either continue to work with you as your therapist or I will make an appropriate referral to other clinicians who would be better suited to help you given your identified needs. Appointments are 45 minutes in duration and sometimes longer during the consultation phase.

Under a new federal law known as the “No Surprises Act” (effective as of January 1, 2022), you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Healthcare providers must give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate for the total expected cost for any non-emergency medical items or services. You will receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing from me at least 1 business day before your initial appointment. I may also provide additional or revised estimates as warranted at a later date. You can ask me, or another provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute that bill. Make sure you save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For more information, please visit: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY

Trust is a fundamental component to psychotherapy. Psychotherapy only works well when someone feels safe and supported. Your privacy is crucial to feeling comfortable with a therapist. Please be aware that I will not release any information about you without your written permission.  In order to provide a continuity of care, it is helpful for me to speak to other professionals who are helping you, such as your primary care doctor, a psychiatrist, a guidance counselor or a teacher, but I would first discuss it with you and get your written permission to communicate with them.  As mandated by law, there are some important exceptions to confidentiality. For example, exceptions include situations when someone is a danger to themselves or others or when there is an indication of child abuse or neglect.

PAYMENT

Please note that I am not an in-network provider for any insurance plans. Full payment is due at the time of your appointment.  Payment can be made by check or through online banking. If you wish to submit to your insurance for out-of-network coverage, I will give you an invoice with all the information that you will need to obtain out-of-network reimbursement. Depending on your insurance plan, reimbursement rates generally range from 40% to 95% after the deductible is met.  If you have further insurance related questions, it is best to call your insurance company and ask about your mental/behavioral health out-of-network coverage. I have a 24-hour cancellation in advance policy. For cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be billed for the missed appointment.
